HSS Update - May 9, 2009

The Health Systems Solutions Project 2010 Team began investigating and monitoring all CMS postings and transmittals since the first "rendition" of the new OASIS – C was posted for comment by CMS last year. On April 8th we shared with you that CMS had closed the final comment period for industry feedback on the assessment that will be released on January 1, 2010.

A lot has happened since then! Over the past month, our team has been very busy working on 2010 compliance. I wanted to take a moment to update all our valued Customers on our progress.

Our team is dedicated to one goal and that is to be 2010 compliant by October 2009, just in time for NAHC in Los Angeles. Three days after the comment period was closed, our team met behind closed doors to map out the product management and development work that will be needed for all of our software and product solutions.

The specifications needed by product management, development and quality assurance have been completed. Over 1200 pages of detailed actions have been documented and approved! SmartEdits™ play a huge part in the success and value of ADVANTAGE. We have hundreds of SmartEdits that need to be reviewed, rewritten, updated and mapped to the OASIS – C currently posted on the CMS website. That project will be completed by the end of this month! And, not only will our software experience changes; but our scannable forms will also require major work to be 2010 compliant. Phase 1 will be finished on June 5th!

The HSS Project 2010 Team continues to closely monitor everything posted by CMS, the industry-at-large and recommendations offered by industry experts. January 1, 2010 is right around the corner. HSS is committed to ensuring that moving from the OASIS B-1 to OASIS – C is as smooth as possible with our products.

Stay tuned for updates on our progress towards successful 2010 Compliance!
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day.
