HSS Update - April 8, 2009
2010 is fast approaching! And when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st 2009 ushering in the New Year, HSS will be ready with software solutions for the CMS Home Health Care changes that go into effect on January 1, 2010.The final version of OASIS C (version 12.2) was submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for review as announced in a notice in the March 9, 2009 Federal Register (Federal Register /Vol. 74, No. 44 /Monday, March 9, 2009 /Notices). The final date for public comments regarding the proposed collection of information is today, April 8, 2009.
The final data set requires the Notice of Proposed Rule Making process which is anticipated in the Spring of 2009. The final rule will be issued in late summer of 2009 with an anticipated implementation on January 1, 2010. Changes to the OASIS C are already on the table. Reimbursement changes are still in discussion. We have put into a place a team led by two senior professionals at HSS with years of combined service in the Home Care industry and a thorough understanding of Medicare regulations and guidelines, software development and implementation and field-based clinical practice.
The HSS Project 2010 team will be supported by product management, select and project-dedicated development and database management, Quality Assurance, Customer Support and Verification. These team members also combine an impressive industry knowledge and experience throughout every facet of healthcare. Taking it a step higher, HSS is proud to have a senior team leading the way for an innovative, leading-edge approach to take on the challenges of 2010 and meet them head-on with a successful software solution for our customers. A very dynamic and aggressive project plan has been scoped. We are working closely with industry experts on coding, reimbursement and regulatory mandates to validate the project every step of the way.
2010 is less than 8 months away. HSS has been working hard since 2008 to make the 2010 New Year's celebration a successful one for our customers.
